Starring Chow Yun Fat this hard-hitting Hong Kong thriller was a key influence on Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs. Director Ringo Lam's City on Fire explores the internal ethical struggle for a policeman who gets too close to his assignment.
A Love Story is the best Wong Ching-Po film since Fu Bo, but that's only because it's being compared to Jiang Hu and Ah Sou. This is a violent, bombastic and pretentious revenge thriller that tries too hard for meaning and ends up appearing hypocritical in the process. In other words, it's a B-movie uncomfortably dressed in A-movie clothes.

Jean-Pierre Melville's hugely influential film remains a cornerstone of the crime genre. Recently released from prison, thief Corey (Alain Delon) finds himself caught up in a dangerous triangle with a mysterious woman (Gian Maria Volonte) and an ex-cop with some issues of his own (Yves Montand). Melville's film is the epitome of cool, with moody cinematography and stellar set design. Featuring another standout performance from Delon, LE CERCLE ROUGE is a bona fide crime classic.
"Marwencol" is a documentary about the fantasy world of Mark Hogancamp. After being beaten into a brain-damaging coma by five men outside a bar, Mark builds a 1/6th scale World War II-era town in his backyard. Mark populates the town he dubs "Marwencol" with dolls representing his friends and family and creates life-like photographs detailing the town's many relationships and dramas.
