Recent engineering graduate Sam Walczak travels to the middle of nowhere to supervise demolition of the mysterious Malestrazza Building. Marie et Lucie sont deux soeurs jumelles aux caractères diamétralement opposés. Elles se détestent et s'adorent à la fois. Chacune a choisi son camp, consciencieusement, en fonction de l'autre. Lucie joue les pin-up extraverties et aime ce qui brille, tandis que Marie, beaucoup plus réservée, est un modèle d'austérité : elle n'a pas la télé, n'aime pas les fringues, ne se maquille pas.
